Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Envoyum. Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us.

What is Envoyum?

Is this an AI SDR that runs fully automated outbound?

No. Envoyum is a relationship intelligence platform with AI-assisted drafting. All outreach queues for human approval. We believe M&A relationships are too important for "set and forget" automation. Every email draft is reviewed by you before it sends.

What makes this different from Reply.io, Apollo, or Outreach?

Those tools are built for short-cycle SaaS sales (30-60 day sequences that end). Envoyum is built for M&A's long cycles (12-24+ months) with perpetual state machines, relationship memory that compounds over time, and M&A-specific context understanding. We optimize for relationship quality, not email volume.

Do you replace my CRM or integrate with it?

Envoyum is relationship intelligence + outreach, not a full CRM. We integrate with your existing CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive) to enrich data and sync activity - or you can use Envoyum standalone for deal sourcing. Think of us as the intelligence and outreach layer that makes your CRM more useful.

Trust & Compliance

How do you prevent over-contacting or burning relationships?

Enforced guardrails: daily send limits, suppression list enforcement, automatic stop-on-reply, and bounce auto-suppress. Plus, all AI-generated content requires human approval before sending. You control the cadence and can pause any contact at any time.

How do you handle opt-outs and compliance?

CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CASL compliant. One-click opt-out in every email, automatic suppression list updates, and full audit trail for every communication. GDPR rights (account deletion, data export) are built into the platform. We take compliance seriously because your reputation depends on it.

Do you train models on my data?

No. Your tenant data is isolated and never used to train external models. Any learning happens within your tenant boundary using verified outcomes (like "meeting booked"), not engagement proxies like open rates. Your proprietary relationship data stays yours.

What security controls exist?

Multi-tenant isolation with Row Level Security (RLS), audit logging of all actions, role-based permissions, and we are on a SOC 2 Type II compliance roadmap. Every action is traceable, and tenant data is strictly separated at the database level.

How It Works

How do you capture "context" from emails, notes, and meetings?

Envoyum ingests email threads (with your permission), uploaded notes, and meeting summaries. Research artifacts are stored with provenance, and every interaction is logged and searchable. Over time, this builds a complete picture of each relationship.

How do you keep data accurate?

Continuous enrichment from web research and structured data providers, dedupe rules to prevent duplicates, verification status tracking, and confidence scores for all enriched data. You always know how confident we are in any data point.

How do you prioritize who to contact next?

Scoring based on M&A-relevant signals: owner readiness indicators, broker responsiveness patterns, deal timing, relationship recency, and data completeness. The system surfaces recommendations, but humans make final decisions on who to contact and when.

Workflows

How do you support 12-24 month cycles without becoming spam?

Perpetual Outreach Program (POP) state machine instead of finite sequences. Contacts move through states (researching, prospecting, nurturing, engaged) with appropriate touch cadences for each. A contact in "nurturing" gets quarterly touches; "engaged" gets immediate follow-up. This respects the pace of M&A.

What's the broker workflow vs search fund workflow?

Brokers focus on buyer relationship management and listing-to-buyer matching - knowing which buyers fit which listings. Search funds focus on broker relationship building and direct owner outreach - building trust with brokers who surface deals. Same platform, different workflow emphasis.

Can multiple teammates share relationship context safely?

Yes. Team-wide visibility into relationship history, with attribution for who did what and when. No more "who talked to this broker last?" or losing context when someone leaves. The institutional memory belongs to your organization, not individuals.

Data & Signals

What signals matter for M&A?

Owner signals: leadership changes, liquidity events, announced retirement, succession planning discussions. Broker signals: new listings, responsiveness patterns, mandate updates. Market signals: industry consolidation trends, regulatory shifts, comparable transactions. We focus on signals that indicate readiness, not just activity.

What data do you ingest and what don't you?

We ingest: public company data, web research, uploaded documents, email threads (with permission), meeting notes. We don't ingest: non-public financial data, personal communications outside work context, or data from sources you haven't authorized. You control what goes in.
